CIC
The Combat Information Centre (CIC) is the nerve centre of a Gallipoli class starship and is located in in the ships pod tower.
Unlike most federation starship primary command and control functions are shared between the CIC and the bridge. During combat all ship functions involving embarkation craft, fighters and transports, and marines operations are controlled through the CIC. The remaining functions such as weapons, shields and helm control are all controlled by the Bridge.
The CIC contains the ship AEGIS Mk 8 Mod 1 fleet fire Control system computer that not only track the large numbers of craft launching and fighting around the ship but also the units fighting on the planet below. All this information is then relayed back to the CIC, giving the marine commanding officers a complete overview of the battle field.
Due to this large amount of information being processed by the CIC it is split into 2 sections, fighters on the left marines on the right. Each section monitors every detail of its respective units during combat and contains separate communications centres, craft management, health monitoring even mess and lounge facilities.
A briefing room, with a large conference table is located at the front of the CIC and to the rear the marine commander monitors the battlefield through a large view screen that dominates the ship situation management section.
